Equity Trading

Indian markets operate between two segments namely cash segments and derivative segment also called future segment.

Under the cash segment all trades are either squared up by the end of the day or these are settled by paying for Net Purchases or delivering for Net Sales. The net purchases and sales for each scrip have to be settled by the pay-in day.

While many investors trade for intra-day profits/ loss and square of their trades daily but there are some who trade on delivery basis and take deliveries for their purchases and like-wise give deliveries for all their sales.

The transaction costs and brokerage charges also differ for both types of trades.

Indian markets provide many opportunities and over 2500 scrips trade at the NSE and over 7000 scrips trade on BSE.
